Sounds like you have an amazing life!!!
I so appreciate these scrapbook pages!
(Descended from Joshua Parker and Jane Francis...shirt tail cousin)
I am a former patient (and distant cousin) to Dr. Watson and Dr. Lester. What
wonderful memories!! My great grandpa Leroy Parker was a first cousin to Dr. J.D. Parker. They were good friends besidies being cousins!
Long ago, my cousin Tommy Parker (great grandson of Leroy Parker) was watching the Rose Bowl parade in California. He started talking to the man next to him, and it turns out that they were both Parkers with ties to Sandusky, Ohio. It turns out it was your Uncle James!! They were related, even though they didn't know each other.
Tommy is gone now...but he really enjoyed that chance encounter!

Hi Dave! Thanks for the quick reply. I am retired 11 years from parish ministry and living in Vermilion, Ohio in a condo with a view of the lake. I have two sons: Matt (48) is a tenured full prof at NC State in Raleigh mostly doing research and supervising grad students in meteorology. They have one son (11). My other son Daniel James (45) is in IT and director of distance learning at Capital University in Columbus. They also have a son (11).
My brother Tim lives in Sandusky in the house they bought from Frederick after Virginia passed away. They have a son Nathanael who is a prof at Kennesaw State and a daughter Rachael of Portland, OR. She is a dead ringer for your mother as a young woman.
Lester lives in the Adirondacks between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. No children, but 48 acres, 4 dogs, 2 cats and the occasional rescue horse.
My wife Sandy and I enjoy the summer season on our 26' antique Lyman. We are doing well all things considered at age 75. Hope this finds you doing well also.
You are welcome to post my email on your guestbook. I look forward to perusing the pictures.
Warm regards,

Dorene & her Mother
My mom cherished her Parker roots. Her grandpa had to sell the farm in Pirkins Township, since the U.S. Government took it over in World War Two for a munitions factory. She used to talk about "the olden days" to us often. She remembered going to to the farm for picnics and holidays.
Grandma Ada Steen Parker made the best pies. Grandpa Roy loved his grandkids very much! Grandpa and Grandma Parker were concessionaires at Cedar Point, and one of their attractions was the Noah's Ark. It was kind of a fun house, and the back ends of animals would wave back and forth.
Mom visited the cemeteries often, where her parents and grandparents were buried. She loved being a cousin to Dr. Watson Parker! He used to sometimes leave medicine out in the mailbox, when several of us kids were sick at once!
One of my funniest memories of Dr. Watson is when he met my then fiance, Tom. (We later married, then divorced, long story.) He said to Tom, "You have my deepest sympathy." He had the funniest dry wit ever!
Thanks Dave for helping us all know more about our family heritage!

Grandma Ada Steen Parker lived on a farm In Perkins Township all of her life until the 1940s.
Here is her recipe for corned beef, which starts with 100 pounds of beef! It must have been for a crowd!
